The setup process involves defining the structure of the work in a top-down manner:

2.5.1 Program Setup

This is the highest level of the hierarchy.

  • Purpose: To group related projects and provide a high-level view of strategic initiatives.

2.5.2 Project Setup

Projects are the main components within a program.

  • Action: Define individual projects (e.g., "Startup Onboarding Project," "Mentor Matching Initiative").
  • Purpose: To manage a specific set of deliverables within the program scope.

2.5.3 Outcome Setup

Outcomes define the desired results of a project.

  • Action: Define the measurable results expected from the completion of a project (e.g., "10 Startups Successfully Graduated," "50% Increase in Mentor Engagement").
  • Purpose: To ensure that all work is goal-oriented and measurable.

2.5.4 Activity Setup

Activities are the high-level actions required to achieve the defined outcomes.

  • Action: Define the major steps or phases within a project (e.g., "Application Review Phase," "Mentorship Sessions").
  • Purpose: To break down the project into manageable stages.

2.5.5 Sub-Activity Setup

Sub-activities are the most granular level of the PMO structure, representing specific tasks.

  • Action: Define the specific tasks and steps within each activity (e.g., "Review Application Form 1," "Schedule First Mentor Meeting").
  • Purpose: To provide clear, actionable steps for team members and track progress at a detailed level.
